bonesbuckleup replied to your post: bonesbuckleup replied to your post: it just makes……you know, you actually have a point! The only person I’m coming up with is the chick in the mirror ‘verse, but I don’t know if that counts because mirror ‘verse? I stand corrected. :)
SEE! Everyone just takes it for granted that Kirk flirts with anything that breathes, but aside from Mirror ‘verse (and the Episode That Must Not Be Named *coughPlato’sStepchildren*cough) I’m pretty sure he never makes a move towards anyone on his crew, regardless of their feelings for him (again: Janice Rand). My personal theory is that he loves the Enterprise and his crew as a whole so much that he’s not willing to jeopardize his crew or ship simply for a romantic interest. He has much more self-control than that.

For though she was ordinary, she possessed health, wit, courage, charm, and cheerfulness.
But because she was not beautiful, no one ever seemed to notice these other qualities, which is so often the way of the world. The Ordinary Princess (via sentimentalmachine)Posted on May 24, 2013 via with 7 notes

bonesbuckleup replied to your post: it just makes me so mad when people say or…But you gotta admit the minute a crew member expresses interest first Kirk is very quick to respond to said interest.
Are you referring to a specific instance because whenever people say that or put it in stories or whatever all I can think of is Janice Rand and how she actively tried to attract his interest and he turned her down because it wasn’t professional. And all of his, ahem, flirtations as far as I can remember occurred with non-crew members. Am I forgetting someone?
